6:01pm..6:03pm....Dad came to the nest.Mom stayed on the nest bowl....He waited a bit .went to the runway looked around and exited,..I zoomed on the river where he usually goes and i didn't see him there......

Mom stayed very close to the nest I saw the two pieces of the egg shell.one inside the other.i will be happy when Mom gets rid of it from the nest bowl.....she did flip it back some.

7:35 p.m.: Nice views of the wee little bobblehead, after Ma steps out into the nest. Definitely not a lot of upper-body control for the poor thing. But that will come.

Mom was up to have something to eat.we had a good view of the chick,,, so sweet all dry and fluffy...... active and peeping a lot and as to be expected she toppled over a few times but did get back up......Mom tucked her and the egg in.....and settled on them

COTG.Mom is off the nest bowl . she went to side of nest called and left.. the chick is sitting up ....she is a strong wee one.. and very bright.. Dad arrived right away and tucked her and the egg in...... the other egg appears intact.... and the broken double egg shell is still there..I was busy zooming but i did get a few scaps.

from about 6:30 am - I was too busy watching the chick to know if there was a switch in adults.
Chick looked very strong - hard to imagine s/he is only 14 hours old! This is a 90 second video of the chick - there's sound, and the wind is quite loud, as is a call by the adult.

I was putting in some laundry when I heard Mom calling there a little over a half hour ago....came running in time to see
the strong little one looking up and wow, so active and alert...so great to see! My heart melted as I watched how Dad kept looking down with
so much admiration at her.....took him a while to settle "just right"
Now quiet, brooding and incubating at 7:15 am
