Harrison Mills Observations

This is a place to keep notes about what's happening at White Rock, Delta 2, Harrison Mills and Lafarge while we wait for the Hancock Wildlife site to be back on line.

From around 1 pm, just before the feeding - I love the hairdo! And it's hard to believe that less than two days ago, he or she fit in an egg just like that one!

Mom quiet on the nest - I had a quick look for Dad but didn't see him on one of his perches.....next time Dad is up, I hope we can get another good look at the egg....

ADD: Great scap, Judy - wonder if mohawk hairdo's are genetic ;)

1:47pm Mom just up a bit to dig in the nest bowl. The chick is getting a bit more mobile - trying to scoot back under Mom. I didn't get a look at the egg and didn't see whether or not Mom rolled it...

THX zoomer Dan - Just caught the end because I was posting and this looks like Mom who I first thought was Dad - so I have edited this post yet again....

2:02pm The chick is getting a nice fish feed - it is starting to lunge forward towards Mom's beak now...

2:29pm All quiet here - Mom on the egg and chick. I had a quick look for Dad but didn't see him. Wind is coming up but it's still sunny and looks like a pretty nice day at the nest .....

2:48pm Mom was just up and shuffled around - I got a look at the egg - nothing really definite, and missed the chick as a result :( No egg roll, and Mom has settled back down on egg and chick......

Mom is quiet - playing with a duck feather that is blowing around a bit beside her in the nest....
