Harrison Mills Observations

This is a place to keep notes about what's happening at White Rock, Delta 2, Harrison Mills and Lafarge while we wait for the Hancock Wildlife site to be back on line.

8:53 a.m.: We got a brief look at the chick as Ma moved away from the nest bowl. Zoomer had panned over to a clump of grass on the nest rim, and was in the process of panning back over to Ma and the chick at this point.
9:17 a.m.: Pa arrived, and Ma began squealing at him. She didn't budge off her chick or the egg.
9:18 a.m.: Pa flew up to the runway branch.
9:19 a.m.: Pa flew away.

It is quiet except for the wind.......... Mom is brooding/ incubating.....staying close to the chick and egg

I am checking to see if the HWF Forum is up...... and so far it isn't.....

Around 10:48am
Another good feeding for the chick by mom....... I think Mom fed her fish this time....no i am wrong i think Mom covered the fish and was feeding the chick some duck.

I was busy on the N Cam and only had that one up.

Just watched another nice feeding - hard to believe the little one isn't even a day old yet - he or she was right up there grabbing the food being offered and peeping away.

No video this time, I'm afraid - doing other things. And  to the South zoomer - amazing job of getting a good look at the feeding through those pesky branches!

Harrison Mills
Congratulations to everyone. Yesterday was the first time, even though I have been watching the eagle nests for a couple of years, that I could honestly say I saw an eaglet making its way out of the egg. I could not pull myself away from the laptop, except when I put out my dog/buddy. I was almost in tears. Could not believe it and the eaglet is a real sweetie. My fingers are crossed we see another eaglet soon.
