First feeding for the tiny chick - two videos coming when I have a chance to process them.

It was really amazing to watch the adult gently touching the tiny one's beak - and to see the tiny one say "oh - I have to open my beak now!" - great job, zoomers!

My goodness, I am in awe of how well that first feeding went.....7:58 am ---the little one was right at Mom's beak, I didn't see any face plants, baby is so strong and hungry....the angle of viewing was just perfect, Mom was so patient and baby got several morsels from what I could see! thank you for the great zooming in Bev, I took some scaps too.
Dad came back again for a couple minutes, checking up on things! What a beautiful family!

7:59am or a bit earlierTHere was a COTG>Mom is feeding the chick.......
First Feeding.....
I was zooming and Mom offered her many bites,[ tap her on her beak at first] ... then the chick is eager to eat.... making good beak contact.she is wobbling as is to be expected . from what i saw the chick did take some bites......a good first feeding .... I was in awe... other egg is intact and the we can see where the other egg shell is breaking up a lot.

8:09am
DAd made a return visit to the nest and left i don't have the S Cam up .. no wide angel view... I didn't see dad leave.

ADDED.....
TY Judy and MIchelle for capturing this with videos and pictures.....

Videos to go with first feeding:

Part one of the first feeding for a 16-hour-old eaglet. Watch how the adult gently taps the beak of the chick to see if the chick is ready for food - and how the chick responds by lunging at the beak of the adult to grab what's there - wow! (5 minutes)

Part two of the first feeding for a 16-hour-old eaglet. The adult tapped the little chick's beak in the first part to stimulate the instinct to grab food - and the second part shows that the tiny chick has good instincts! (3 minutes)

Thank you for setting this up. Hi everyone! First, I have taken some pics from this morning but have to go out and will post later. We have an appointment so I haven't had time to read back. (Will do later.)

Also, yesterday was my son Gary's birthday April 29th the day of the chick hatching.
